More Smash Up, X-Wing Tiles, and Free Stuff from Mayfair!

Alderac has officially unofficially announced today that there will be yet another expansion for the hit Paul Peterson title Smash Up, releasing in August. It will feature 4 new factions taking on the same format as Awesome Level 9000. With a few twists. From Alderac's Facebook page: There have already been a lot of questions about more Smash Up, so we'll let you know there is another set of 4 factions coming in August! For the first time, this set has an overall theme running through the factions. Each is distinct, with its own focus mechanically and visually, but there is a common thread that runs through all of them. Speculate away! We interviewed designer Paul Peterson a few months ago, you can check out our interview and see if he left any clues for us on this third expansion...

Fantasy Flight has announced that they are releasing a Tile/Battlefield kit for their X-Wing Miniatures game. The set comes with 12 tiles each measuring a square foot, and featuring iconic locations in the Star Wars Universe. They look slick, and appear to offer a great, and FLAT, surface to hold your battles on! Check out the photo we've included. And you can see the official info on Fantasy Flight's site here.

A-Wing Sneak Peek from Fantasy Flight!

Fantasy Flight has announced that the second wave of starships for X-Wing are hitting retailers on Feb. 28.

They also gave a sneak preview of the A-Wing, with a look at the two new pilot cards and the maneuver dial—this is by far the fastest and most maneuverable rebel ship yet!

This second wave of single-ship expansions will also feature such iconic ships as the Millennium Falcon, the Slave I, and the TIE Interceptor. So players' fleets will be bolstered considerably with this new round of ships!

The Millennium Falcon is Coming!

Last week Fantasy Flight Games gave the world a pretty good look at the latest expansion for their Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures game. The long-awaited Millennium Falcon ship is on its way. And I just have to say: Wow, it looks cool! The Falcon will have a few extra modifications (true to the ship's history in the films), as well as 3 different pilot options: Han, Chewie, and the often under-appreciated Nien Nunb.

More X-Wing News!

So, we're pretty big Star Wars geeks when it gets right down to it. And we're excited to see more news about the upcoming release of X-Wing. Fantasy Flight rolled out some more info on their upcoming X-Wing miniatures game this week, this time they gave us some info on the first expansion for the title. I'd say it's more of an add-on than an expansion. It features one T-65 X-Wing. It also has some ship cards, two new pilots (including the ever-so-skilled Wedge Antilles) and a few other customizable features. The ships themselves look fantastic and the buzz is pretty good surrounding this game. Although there's no word on when this single-fighter expansion will release, my guess is they'll be getting them to market pretty quickly to capitalize on the release-date fever.

X-Wing - Stay on Target!

Good News - Fantasy Flight Games has announced that the long awaited release of X-Wing their newest miniatures game, will launch and be available as soon as GenCon '12 kicks off, and they'll sell them until they run dry. Then beginning Friday morning of the con, they will start official sanctioned tournaments for the game under their governing body of FFG Organized Play. They demo'd the game at last year's GenCon and gamers have been clamoring for it ever since then. Bad News - There isn't much bad news here, with the exception that I'm not going to be attending Gen Con this year so I'll have to wait to get my hands on X-Wing until it hits shelves locally.
