Heroes of Land, Air and Sea Relaunched by Gamelyn Games!

A few weeks ago Gamelyn Games decided to retool their Kickstarter for the massively, gargantuan 4X game: Heroes of Land, Air and Sea. And today they've relaunched it and boy was the wait worth it!

The biggest news coming from this relaunch is that Gamelyn was able to seek out better pricing for the manufacturing and pass the savings along to you, the backers.

Tiny Epic Kingdoms Heroes' Call--A Single-Take Preview

My (Jeremiah's) game of the year for 2014 was Tiny Epic Kingdoms, the first in the Tiny Epic line from Gamelyn games. TEK is a 4X micro game that packs a ton of gameplay into a small package. Heroes' Call is the first expansion in the Tiny Epic universe, which doesn't necessarily mean there will be expansions for each of the Tiny Epic games, as was explained to us in this interview.

It's no secret that we here at TOG are big fans of the Tiny Epic series from Gamelyn Games and designer Scott Almes, so we've been tuning into as much buzz as we can about the first expansion for the series: Tiny Epic Kingdoms Heroes' Call.

But what better to find out more than the buzz than to play the expansion itself!? Gamelyn seems to think so, as they are giving away 30, count them 30! Prototype copies of the expansion to lucky folks like you.

Gen Con: The Aftermath--Part One

Some of you might know that I (Jeremiah) went to GenCon last weekend in Indianapolis. Now, before we go any further, let me say this: I've been to Origins every year since 2009. Big. Deal. The last two years at Origins, I've brought along some help in covering the convention, and was able to shoot some video interviews for our YouTube channel, and make some really great connections along the way. If there's one thing I've learned in those two trips to Origins, it's this: It is really hard to cover a convention in one day and truly get a handle on exactly what is going on there... So I went to GenCon by myself (no help this time) and gave myself a whopping day and a half to try and cover the largest gaming event on the continent... Here's Part One of what I came up with!

Origins 2014 Wrap-Up - The Good, the Bad, and the Opposite of Ugly

It's a spaghetti western theme as we finish up coverage from this years Origins Game Fair. Again, I was only able to cover the con for one day, Friday, so I spent all of my time chatting with publishers and designers in the exhibit hall and didn't get to take a look at all of the many, many, other events that take place in the convention center. There is a TON going on, and one small coverage team just can't get to it all in a single day... So with that said, let's wrap things up! Are you ready? Good, let's go!
