Great News for Descent Fans: Road to Legend Brings Co-Op Play

There's been some interesting news out of the GAMA Trade Show in Vegas this week. One of the biggest and most surprising announcements was Road to Legend, a companion app for Descent: Journeys in the Dark.

The app acts as the Overlord, making Descent into a fully cooperative experience. It even increases the exploration aspect, as the app hides the full dungeon until it's revealed through player movements. You'll start in a room with closed doors, and when you open a door, the app tells you which tiles, tokens, and monsters to add.

The app includes Rise of All Goblins, a four-quest mini-campaign that includes two story quests and two side quests--and you'll only need the core game to play. After the quests, you can head to town and buy new items and upgrade characters. And the app keeps track of everything you've acquired.

You can also enter any expansions you already own, and the app automatically adds terrain, monsters, and items to your quests.

While the app comes with Rise of All Goblins, further campaigns will be available as downloadable content (DLC). We haven't heard how much that DLC will cost.

It will be available in the App Store, Google Play, and on Steam.

Speaking of Descent, I (Firestone) just got the latest expansion, Mists of Bilehall, so look for an unboxing video on our YouTube page soon, and a review right here on Theology of Games. Thanks for reading!
