Theology of Games

Kickstarter Weekly, February 11, 2019

Welcome back to another week of Kickstarter Weekly! Hopefully you’ve dug out from under that polar vortex. And hopefully you didn’t get lulled into the fool’s spring that hit some of the country. It’s still winter, though if Punxsutawney Phil is right, spring is going to come early. We’ll see… Now let’s get to those games!

SUBURBIA: COLLECTOR’S EDITION BY BEZIER GAMES

I’ve always felt that Suburbia was an underrated game. It’s got a great auction. There’s a spacial element. There are public goals. Private goals. It’s a terrific little game. And now Bezier Games is bringing a deluxe version to the market. The core gameplay remains the same, but they’ve upgraded the components, and added all sorts of extras and expansions. Time’s almost up, so check this one out!

Pricing: $99, plus shipping

Campaign Ends: February 12

Expected Delivery: October 2019

MILLENNIUM BLADES: COLLUSION, BY LEVEL 99 GAMES

Millennium Blades is a crazy, audacious game. It’s a game about playing a game—a CCG, specifically. There are LOADS of card sets—each with a different theme and feel. You’ll build a deck, play against other people, and try to score the most points. And it was in my Top 10 Games of 2017. It’s super fun!

This expansion is said to be the final one for the game. It adds new card sets, new characters, a whole new game mode, and a new box that will hold everything from the base game, first expansion, and Collusion. As with most Level 99 Games, it looks as though it’ll have more content than you can ever play. So much variety!

Pricing: $60 for the Collusion expansion; $115 for both the base game and expansion—both include shipping to the US.

Campaign Ends: March 3

Expected Delivery: December 2019

That’s it for this week. Thanks for reading!
